Bošket is a Dalmatian word for a tree that was used as a trap to lure the singing birds. One of such "singing birds groups" gathered in 2013 and founded the klapa named after that tree. Although many of the members were primarily from the area of Dalmatia, especially in the beginning, the regional background was not mandatory in order to become the klapa member. The only criterion was the love towards the traditional a cappella music. The members of the Bošket's klapa therefore come from all over Croatia — Dubrovnik, Omiš, Split, Pag, Zagreb and Bjelovar.
The Bošket klapa fosters traditional a cappella singing and prefers to perform songs and melodies that have been forgotten for different reasons. By performing these, Bošket tries to leave something as heritage to new klapa generations; the same way the old generations left to ours. The klapa's aim is to remind everyone of the volume and richness of the Dalmatian cultural heritage.
During the first few years, Bošket performed at numerous exhibitions and events, such as Klapa Event in Senj, Island klapas’ event in Kolan on the island of Pag, several performances at the Dalmatian klapa concerts in Zagreb, the Festival of student klapas and many others. A somewhat different project that this klapa was a part of is “Lijepa naša Sava” project, within which old melodies from the Sava region were modified and performed in many villages and places along the river sava (Županja, Slavonski Brod, Zagreb, Sisak etc). Bošket’s first international experience took place in 2014 when it performed at the Festival of Klapas in Perast, Montenegro. In the same year, the group performed at the Festival of Dalmatian Klapas in Omiš in the category of debut performers. The following year, the gala concert in Mimara Museum took place, which was a milestone in Bošket’s history. Later on in the same year, Bošket participated for the first time at Omiš Klapa Festival in the category of ‘men’s klapas’. At the end of 2015, Bošket performed at the Christmas concert at the Zagreb’s Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which was also the klapa’s first experience with sacral music. This event was also the first performance under the guidance of Gina Damjanovic, the klapa’s new director at the time. In 2016, Bošket continued with numerous performances at different events and happenings, such as Evenings of Dinko Fio at the National University Library, "In the garden" event, Klapas’ event in Sv. Nedjelja, and others. All these performances were an introduction to the klapa’s performance at the 50th Festival of Dalmatian Klapas in Omiš, where Bošket managed to achieve another great success — it managed to secure its place in the Final’s evening. Shortly afterwards, the klapa, won the first place at the Festival of Klapa singing in Posušje. The klapa closed the summer season with performances at the events in Sv. Filip i Jakov, Bibinj, Sisak and Zagreb. The end of the year was marked by the performance at the 15th festival of the Croatian male vocal groups and the Christmas concert in Zagreb.
